Biking The Erie Canal 🚲⛵️
Over the August long weekend Lousje and her partner Glenn embarked on a much anticipated biking trip along the Erie Canal. If you've been following along, this trip is long in the making with the pair purchasing brand new e-bikes earlier this Summer.
Their trip started in Lockport, NY, a unique town dotted with several locks in the middle of the city, with a museum and canal displays. They jetted off on their bikes along the Erie Canal trail stopping at Gasport and Middleport before arriving in the Village of Medina. An almost 28 kilometer trek! Once in Medina Lousje toured the village and stopped to read with a glass of wine while Glenn headed back to Lockport for the car.
From Medina they drove their accommodations for the night, an Airbnb in Brockport. That evening they enjoyed a delicious dinner right next to the canal before retiring to their home away from home. The following day the pair rode their bikes around Medina, stopping to chat with a volunteer at the Canal museum. They then covered some ground, biking to Spencerport and back.
Lousje & Glenn then headed (by car) to Olcott to their next Airbnb, popping in for a beer in the village where they were hosting an antique car show. They then drove to Wilson to enjoy another lovely meal, this time overlooking the harbour.
On the final day they drove along the lakeshore to Youngstown, recharging at breakfast after touring the village. They then mounted their e-bikes and headed to a micro-brewery for lunch before heading back to Youngstown to pass out! Just hearing about all the places they traveled is exhausting, so you can only imagine how tired their legs were!
Lousje brought along her rose coloured Marie La Lune Loose Knit Sweater and a vintage Cut Loose tiered skirt.
